John’s passion for sustainable farming, his warm spirit, and his tireless work ethic were felt by everyone who had the privilege to know him. He and his wife, Virginia, started the Sylvain Meadows Farm in 1994, pouring their hearts into every harvest and every connection made along the way.
For over 10 years, John brightened our Saturdays at Heritage Tavern, arriving without fail to deliver vibrant, handpicked flowers from his farm. His floral gifts weren’t just beautiful, they were heartfelt acts of kindness that brought joy to our space and to all who knew him. His quiet generosity and steady presence became a cherished tradition, one we will miss deeply.
In the wake of John’s passing, Virginia is facing unimaginable grief while also carrying the weight of their farm on her own.
