Hey loves it’s Hli, I’m creating this GoFundraiser on behalf of my family. All the proceeds will be going towards my mom’s funeral expenses; anything left is going towards supporting the family to pay for living expenses/medical bills.
As you all know our mom suddenly passed away recently. For some background my mother has been living with kidney failure and high blood pressure for the past few years. On March 2nd collapsed at home and had to be taken by ambulance to the ER in Fond du Lac and shortly after medflighted to Madison. There the doctors attempted to perform emergency surgery to prevent the hemorrhage and swelling in her brain from causing more damage.
Despite their best efforts the doctors informed us that the swelling and subsequent shrinking had damaged part of her motor cortex and brain stem which control movement and your ability to become conscious. The family made the difficult decision to take her off life support on March 8th. At 2:43 pm she left this world.
My mom always told us that she wanted to have a traditional Hmong funeral and we want to make that happen for her. Unfortunately my brothers and I are all very young and aren’t familiar with what the traditions entail, especially when planning a funeral. Thankfully our dads side of the family has stepped up and offered us help with organizing & planning her celebration of life.
Originally we had the funeral scheduled for the week of April 19th but we are currently talking it over & rescheduling the service. We’ll keep everyone updated!

In late November my father was having issues with headaches and confusion. We took him to the ER where the doctor told us that he had a brain hemorrhage and he would need to be immediately medflighted to SSM Health in Madison. There he was able to get treatment and spent over a week recovering before he was cleared to head back home.
Unfortunately his symptoms proceeded to get worse which brought him to the ER once again. Around 3 weeks after he was released he had to be medflighted once again to Madison to spend another week in the hospital.
Thankfully his recovery has been going well, but he has been unable to work due to his health problems. My father has been continually denied disability benefits despite having multiple strokes and a heart attack over the last couple years. Despite my parent’s best efforts, they’ve been struggling financially and healthwise over the last few years.
