We are heartbroken to share that Erica Smith passed away unexpectedly last week. Erica was a daughter, a sister, a professor of sociology and, above all a mother to Alexander, who turns 9 this week.
As the Smith family navigates their unimaginable grief, they are also faced with enormous financial stress. We are calling in community to help support them in their time of need. Funds raised will go towards the cost of cremation and services, flights and travel for family, and living expenses during missed work.
Most importantly, the funds will go to Alexander, and making sure he has as much stability and normalcy as possible. Funds will support his day to day care in the short and long term, the things he loves (like soccer), and the things he’ll need (like counseling).
