Alice Rienzo, a cherished wife and devoted mother, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her family on March 24th following a courageous 15-month battle with cancer. Throughout her journey, Alice displayed incredible strength and grace, serving as a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her. Even amid her own struggle, her selflessness shone through as she continued to prioritize the well-being of others. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Frank Rienzo, and their three children—Emily, Gina, and Nick.
Alice devoted her life to helping others, first as a registered nurse and later as a loving mother. Together with Dr. Rienzo, she took on the immense responsibility of caring for her parents, both of whom faced serious illnesses—her father battled cancer, while her mother had Alzheimer’s. The Rienzo family welcomed them into their home, where Alice became their full-time caregiver. Her father passed away before Alice’s own diagnosis with cancer, but even as she underwent chemotherapy, Alice continued to care for her mother. As her condition worsened, Dr. Rienzo took on the role of primary caregiver for both Alice and her mother. Alice tragically lost her mother during her battle with cancer.
The Rienzo family has endured immense emotional and financial hardships over the years. The costs of providing care for Alice’s parents led to mounting medical and other expenses, then Alice’s cancer treatments further compounded their financial struggles. These challenges were intensified as all three children were attending college and medical school simultaneously, adding yet another layer of strain to the family’s resources.
The Rienzo family now faces the arduous task of mourning their beloved wife and mother, while grappling with the financial strain this loss has brought. During this profoundly difficult time, we have an opportunity to surround them with our love and support. Having devoted their lives to helping others, the family deserves compassion and care in return.
