Monique is reaching out on behalf of their mother and family during an incredibly painful time. Monique’s father recently passed away after a long battle with stage 4 cancer that spread to his liver, spine, and bones, and ultimately ended in multiple organ failure. His illness and passing have taken a deep physical and emotional toll on everyone who loved him. He was the kind of person who never hesitated to help others, especially his family, and that love shaped the way he lived every day.
This loss comes after another heartbreaking tragedy for the family. Seven years ago, Monique’s sister passed away and left behind two young girls, one of whom has special needs. Without hesitation, Monique’s parents adopted them and raised them as their own. Now, Monique’s mother is grieving the loss of her husband while continuing to care for her two granddaughters and help them adjust to life without him.
The funds raised will help cover medical and funeral expenses and ease the financial burden on Monique’s mother so she can grieve and care for the children without the added stress of overwhelming costs.
