Israel is raising this fundraiser for his uncle, Gerardo Martinez, whose family is grieving a heartbreaking loss. Gerardo had been suffering from diabetes, and because of a lack of money and resources, his condition worsened to the point that he had to have his leg amputated. This morning, Gerardo sadly passed away from complications. This loss has been devastating for the Martinez family, especially because it comes so soon after the passing of other family members on the same side of the family just a few weeks ago. They are now facing yet another painful loss while trying to process their grief together.
Gerardo lived in Mexico, while his sons live in Florida. At this time, his wife, Israel’s parents, and Israel’s sister are traveling from Florida to Mexico to be with family and lay Gerardo to rest. The funds raised will help cover funeral expenses, hospital bills, and travel expenses for the family during this difficult time. Any support would mean so much to the Martinez family and help ease some of the burden they are carrying.
