Help Me Bring My Dad, Calvin, Home ❤️
My heart is broken as I write this.
I never imagined I would have to create a fundraiser to lay my dad, Calvin, to rest. His passing was unexpected, and I am still trying to process the reality that I have to say goodbye to my father while simultaneously figuring out how I am going to afford the funeral he deserves.
Losing a parent is something no child is ever truly prepared for. What makes this even harder is knowing that the responsibility of making these arrangements has fallen heavily on me at a time when I am already grieving.
I need help.
There are people who knew my dad. People who loved him. People who laughed with him, talked with him, shared memories with him, called him family, and whose lives he touched in one way or another.
If Calvin ever made you smile, helped you, gave you advice, made you laugh, showed you love, or simply left an impression on your life, this is an opportunity to give some of that love back.
I am not asking for anyone to take on my responsibility. I am simply asking my family, friends, and everyone who knew my dad to stand beside me while I carry something that is incredibly heavy.
Funeral expenses come at a time when there is already so much emotional pain, and unfortunately, grief does not pause because there are bills to pay. I want to be able to focus on mourning my father and celebrating his life instead of constantly worrying about how I am going to cover the cost of putting him to rest.
Every donation matters.
$10 matters. $20 matters. $50 matters. Whatever you can give matters.
And if you truly cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. One share could put this in front of someone who knew Calvin, loved Calvin, or simply understands what it feels like to lose a parent unexpectedly.
I know many people say, “If you need anything, let me know.”
This is me letting you know.
I need my family. I need my friends. I need the people who loved my dad to come together for him one more time.
Help me give Calvin the dignified homegoing he deserves and help take some of this financial weight off my shoulders so I can grieve my dad the way a daughter should be able to.
If you loved Calvin, please don’t just mourn him with me from a distance. Stand with me. Give if you can. Share if you can’t. Help me bring my dad home.
From the bottom of my heart, Thank you
