For Cassidy
Cassidy is Persiah’s little sister, a thoughtful, talented 14-year-old who just began her first year of high school in August. This should be a season filled with new classes, creativity, and discovering who she is, but it came shortly after the heartbreaking loss of her father, David. Just one year earlier, the family also lost their maternal grandmother, Lucina. David was a truck driver who loved Dragon Ball Z, video games, and everything in the Marvel universe, and those passions became part of the joyful world he helped build with Cassidy and her mom, Roxane. Cassidy carries so much beauty within her. She loves to sketch, paint, and communicate through art, and she plays the violin. She is introverted, intelligent, and full of heart.
Since David’s passing, Cassidy’s mom, Roxane, has been doing everything possible to keep things together while facing rising costs and a difficult job market. Persiah is helping however possible, but cannot carry two households alone. This fundraiser is to help ease some of that pressure with rent, groceries, birthday gifts, and college planning, so Cassidy can keep being a teenager instead of feeling like she has to grow up too fast to help with finances. Persiah wants September, and the rest of this year, to feel special for Cassidy, especially with Cassidy’s birthday arriving the day after her own.
