Support Anna’s Recovery from Brain Surgery

Main fundraiser photo
Hi everyone! I’m Anna. I’m a writer, a mother to three amazing kids, and currently providing a home to a tumor in my brain.

At the end of May 2025, I learned that I have a meningioma, which is a benign brain tumor, located near my brain stem.

Good news: I’m not going to die.

Bad news: brain surgery.

The neurosurgeon referred to the tumor as “complex” – which isn’t exactly the word you want to hear when you’re talking about something growing in your head. There are risks that something might be damaged during surgery, like my hearing, a nerve in my cheek, or a nerve that controls the use of my arm.

We developed a Brain Tumor Mantra in our house. “It will be hard. But it will be fine.”

The unknown “hard” part is where I need help.

I’m self-employed. I won’t be able to work for several weeks after surgery (which is scheduled for July). Even after that, I don’t know if I’ll be able to work at my current capacity.

I’ve always saved money in my business, but more like “What happens if I lose a client?” Or “What happens if I get a bad illness?” Not “What happens if I get a brain tumor?” level of saving.

I’m asking for donations to help cover the gap in our household income while I can’t work (or can’t work as much). It will also cover anticipated medical expenses related to the surgery and recovery. Every little bit will help ease the stress in the weeks/months to follow.

Thank you so much for your support. ❤️

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
