Amy Huang was a 24-year-old first-generation Chinese immigrant, UC Berkeley & SFSU graduate, and mental health professional working in San Francisco.
On April 1st, 2025, Amy disappeared and was last seen leaving her home, with her car found parked on the San Mateo bridge. With the given evidence, such as camera footage, there was much speculation on what had occurred as she was never seen exiting her car. Throughout the last few months, many individuals from the public, friends, and family have used their resources to provide support in finding Amy.
Last month, a body had been found, but Amy’s family and friends were informed that the body was too decomposed to physically identify it, and that a DNA test had to be conducted.
We have recently been informed through DNA confirmation that the body is Amy’s.
Amy showed no signs of mental distress or prior history of mental illness (from friends, family, and coworkers alike), nor was there anything suspicious or concerning found on her personal belongings or devices. While nobody knows the full truth of what happened and how/why she ended up where she did, we would like to express our appreciation and gratitude for everyone’s support and care for Amy, as well as everyone’s patience in final updates as we tied up loose ends.
As Amy’s friends, we’d like to make a final request to everyone: Please help support our wish to alleviate the financial burden of this tragedy by helping the family pay for Amy’s funeral and other related expenses, as they navigate the heavy loss of their only child.
