My former neighbor, who incidentally is physically handicapped, lost his mother in 2024. When a neighbor carried him out of his home, as flames from the Eaton Canyon Fire ravaged Altadena, they left behind one cherished item: the wooden urn containing his mother’s ashes. With the aid of a cadaver dog, they were able to find the ashes and give them back to David.
David’s hope is to purchase a lovely marble urn and create a memorial garden in the backyard. His dear mother so loved her garden and Koi pond, often spending hours planting flowering plants, picking fruit, or just sitting and reading in the garden. His hopes are to recreate a sanctuary where he can enjoy being outside and remember his beloved mother.
