Sergeant Jason McClung is an Army Reserve Soldier who has always sought opportunities to better himself so that he can better serve others. Recently, Sergeant McClung was attending a schoolhouse course while on military orders, dedicating his time to expanding his knowledge and developing skills that would benefit not only his community and organization, but also the people around him.
Tragically, during his time away attending this course, an unforeseen accident occurred that left Sergeant McClung seriously injured and suffering from a fractured back. Due to the severity of his injuries, he is currently under doctor’s orders to remain at home and is unable to return to work for the foreseeable future.
As Sergeant McClung faces the physical, emotional, and financial challenges that come with recovering from such a serious injury, he has also experienced an unimaginable personal loss. His mother recently and unexpectedly passed away. At a time when he should be able to focus on grieving the loss of his mother and honoring her memory, Sergeant McClung is instead faced with the overwhelming stress of trying to navigate her final arrangements while being physically unable to work and facing financial uncertainty.
No one should have to endure such tremendous hardship alone. Sergeant McClung has dedicated himself to serving his country, improving himself, and helping those around him. Now, during one of the most difficult moments of his life, he needs the support of his community, fellow Soldiers, friends, and anyone willing to lend a helping hand.
