Richard “Buddy” Driggers was an absolute gem of a man. He was known for being a hardworking family man and loved by all who had the opportunity to know him. He and his wife Barbara “Baba” created a beautiful life together and are well known in our community. Buddy, or Papa Buddy, loved his family: Baba, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He enjoyed spending time with them and making them smile and laugh.
Buddy was also a proud Air Force veteran. He served in the Vietnam War. He has a huge family in the nuclear industry as well. Buddy spent years running outages at nuclear plants all over the states and in other countries, although he spent the last 8 years mainly at Brunswick Nuclear Plant.
In April 2024, Buddy was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After starting treatments in October, his health quickly declined. On March 26th, 2025, Buddy lost his battle with cancer, leaving a massive hole in all of our hearts.
This fundraising effort is for his wife, Barbara. Buddy brought in the majority of their income and with him gone, she has a lot of expenses that come with his passing. I set this up to see if we can help Baba and ease her mind at least a little so that she doesn’t have to worry about this part while she grieves her husband. Please donate what you can or share this.
