Restore the Grove of Remembrance

Main fundraiser photo
Greetings Friends of US History;

We are VQA Gardens, Project Green Earth on a mission to preserve our history and the natural forestry of our parks and recreational areas. December of 2024 I was guest to a commemoration of a national star memorial “Grove of Remembrance” in Baltimore Druid Hill Park. Hosted by Mothers of War Foundation. A memorial dedicated to fallen soldiers of WW1 by President Woodrow Wilson in 1918. The grove of trees that surrounds the historical site are for all the 48 states of union, Baltimore who lost 50,000 veterans in the war, mostly of Irish descent from southeast Baltimore, President Woodrow Wilson and allied nations of Europe. Since then added trees were dedicated for Hawaii and Alaska. We noted during this ceremony the boy scouts troops raising a flag on one of the two operational flag poles that the pavilion and site were in ruin and a disgrace to the history of our veterans and our national treasure. What can we do to preserve our forefathers life’s work? We are waiting on possible grant funds to in part help repair a falling roof of pavilion and some of the masonry. However much more is needed to preserve the site. repairing two flag poles, restoring all the masonry and a 300 yard masonry path, care and maintenance of the grove of trees, refininsing to brass placards and masonry monuments. We plan to get the project started Spring of 2026.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
