In less than 48 hours, our world shifted. Our beloved John Salazar was taken from us, unexpectedly. John was many things, a father, grandfather, mentor, counselor, teacher, and friend. He spent his early years as a skilled brick mason, but his true calling came later in life, when he became a drug and alcohol counselor in 1995. For nearly 30 years, he gave his heart to helping others rebuild their lives. He didn’t just show up to work, he gave people hope. He saw the forgotten, the hurting, and the overlooked, and reminded them they mattered.
His legacy is deep, strong, and powerful, just like him.
We are fundraising to help cover funeral and burial costs, and to honor his life with a service that reflects the impact he made on so many. Your support will help us gather as a family and community to celebrate him and say goodbye with love and dignity.
Though we grieve with heavy hearts, we rejoice in knowing John is now in perfect peace. We believe that the seeds he planted, in his family, his students, and the lives he touched, will grow into something beautiful.
Thank you for giving, for praying, and for helping us honor a man whose strength changed lives.
