It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of my big brother, Eric, a passionate, kind, and creative soul who was taken from us far too soon at the age of 32. Though his time with us was brief, the love and impact he left on everyone around him will never be forgotten.
Eric was a devoted father to his soon-to-be 3-year-old daughter, Keihlani Mayu Ikehara. The bond they shared was unbreakable. He gave her all his love, and she will forever carry his memory in her heart. My brother was her protector, her guide, and her biggest fan, and his love for her was immeasurable.
Our bond was built around two things we both cherished deeply: cars and coffee. Whether we were working on our cars together or enjoying a cup of coffee, those moments are the ones I will forever treasure. Eric had a true passion for cars, particularly influenced by Japanese culture and automotive customization. He dedicated countless hours to perfecting his cars, making them a reflection of his creativity and individuality. His work in the car community will continue to inspire others, and his legacy will live on through his cars.
Outside of his love for cars, Eric was a skilled barista and an incredible cook, especially when it came to barbecuing. His coffee wasn’t just a drink; it was a way to connect, brighten someone’s day, and make them feel welcomed. His barbecues brought people together, filled with laughter, love, and delicious food. Whether for family or friends, he always made sure everyone felt valued and cared for.
My parents are heartbroken and are now planning my brother’s funeral, which has been an incredibly difficult process. I am asking for your support during this time of great loss.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support. Your generosity will help bring some peace to my family during this difficult time as we honor Eric’s memory and the legacy of his love, creativity, and generosity.
