️ I NEED YOUR HELP TO TAKE MY DAD HOME ️
I never imagined that I would have to write a post like this.
My heart is broken as I share that my dad, Samuel Shortte, has passed away.
Over the last few years, Dad faced many challenging health issues. Through it all, he continued to fight, to stay strong, and to hold on to hope. But this time, we weren’t given the outcome we prayed for. Death came too soon, and I was not prepared for the emotional or financial weight that comes with losing a parent.
My dad spent much of his life helping and showing up for others. Today, I am humbly asking our family, friends, community, and everyone whose life he touched to help us show up for him during his final journey.
My goal is to raise $9, 000 to take my dad home to St. Vincent and the Grenadines
and give him the proper burial he deserves. The funds will help with transportation, travel, funeral, and burial expenses.
There are so many emotions in my heart right now. Grief. Sadness. Regret. Love. And gratitude.
Because despite everything, I will always be grateful that my dad was the person who brought me to America and gave me the opportunity to pursue a better life. That is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Dad, I wish I had more time.
More conversations.
More memories.
More chances to say the things that sometimes go unsaid.
But now, all I want is to take you home.
