My name is Laurie, and I am creating this fundraiser for my sister, Rose Marie Gayhart. In 1985, Rose vanished, and from that moment on, my life became a long fight to keep searching for her and speaking her name. I kept going when people stopped asking where she was, when her case was pushed aside, and when others gave up. For 41 years, I carried her story through heartbreak, silence, and unanswered questions because I could not let my sister be forgotten. After all of those years of fighting for truth and justice, Rose was finally found. She is home now, but my fight for her is not over.
I am asking for help to give Rose the dignity and peaceful resting place she deserves. Your support will help create a headstone that reflects her life, cover the engraving and placement, and build a place where our family can visit, grieve, and honor her memory. This headstone is more than a marker to me. It is a way to make sure Rose’s name is never erased and a way to honor the love and determination that carried me through 41 years of searching.
