We are asking for everyone to extend prayer to sweet Lory Caskey for strength, guidance, wisdom and faith; as she unexpectedly lost her husband, John, on Sunday, May 25th. We are now accepting donations (any amount helps, no matter how small), to build a fund for Lory. Although John struggled with his own health challenges, he was the sole provider for his family, as his loving wife, Lory, has medical struggles herself, in which prevents her from working herself. Our hope is to raise enough to help John continue to provide a small reserve, while Lory navigates through financial transitioning. This reserve will temporarily supersede John’s income. Anyone who knew John, knows how much this would mean to him.
For those of you who did not have the pleasure of knowing John; let me tell you a little bit…
First and foremost, John was the purest definition of a man of God. He touched so many hearts, serving as Chaplain for the Hanover Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and The Lions of Judah. John had a passion for motorcycles, even when that passion occasionally (at times more than occasionally) included crashing them. John also had a passion of being a jokester. Some would say it was a perfected trade, as he could tell a joke with the straightest of faces, not skipping a beat; and then enjoying the laughter shared after you realized he was telling a joke. Some of his other interests over the years included raising, showing and riding horses, golf/searching for his golf balls, target shooting, fishing and chili! Above all of those things, though, was the unconditional love he had for his wife of 17 years, his 6 children, his 3 grandchildren, and his beloved, Coco.
Now, I’d like to tell you about how John impacted my life. My husband and I, looking for a way to incorporate our love of God with our passion for motorcycles; became members of the Hanover Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and The Lions of Judah. Being the only people we knew, John and Lory made us feel welcome. Which quickly grew into a beautiful friendship. “John and Smitty” were “two peas in a pod”, as the saying goes. They shared a love for God, a love for their families, and you guessed it…. A love for joking John was one of Dwaine’s most cherished friends; and John and Lory were right by our sides through many good as well as troubling times. They made daily visits during the two weeks before and were present the day Dwaine was called home.
So again I ask you to help us rally together, take our turn in John’s shoes, and hold him and Lory up for a bit. If you are able, please donate what you can, any amount is appreciated.
