On March 23, 2025 , our father ascended to eternal peace. He was 94. It’s uplifting to celebrate the life of such a courageous man, but his time has come as he has lived a beautiful life. While it’s heartbreaking to bid farewell to our father, Jerry Tyler, we also
want to share his extraordinary life with those who loved him.
He was larger than life and our pillar of strength. He was born on May 20, 1930, in Red Valley, Arizona to Frank George and Marie Bluehorse (Tyler). His primary clans are Red Running into Water and Bitter Water clans. In his lifetime, he worked as a carpenter, masonry, and farmer while raising five children. Our father played the role of “second dad” to many because he was so loving. He was admired and adored by his children and 13 grandchildren.
As we all know, it’s hard to deal with painful loss, but together we can find strength and the cost of funeral arrangements can be a burden shared. We are kindly asking for monetary assistance to cover end-of-life arrangements.
Our father, a humble and resilient man, fought to the very end at the UNM hospital in Albuquerque. We’ve chosen Desert View (Shiprock) as the home-going location. Any donations directly to them are greatly appreciated. Zelle donations can also be made to his daughter, Emily King
