Jemma’s Diamond Promise is for Jemma and her family during a heartbreaking time. Jemma is a 10-year-old softball player, a beloved teammate, and the catcher for the 2 Out Storm 10U-Bundy fastpitch softball team. Rodney, Jemma’s coach, started this fundraiser after Jemma’s mother unexpectedly passed away, leaving the family to carry an unimaginable loss along with many sudden financial burdens. Right now, Jemma, her siblings, grandparents Alan and Kim, and the rest of the family are taking life one moment at a time as they grieve and support one another. Alan shared something that has stayed close to Rodney’s heart: their family has always tried to live by giving and helping others, and now they are learning that sometimes you have to allow other people to give back and bless you. That is the spirit behind this fundraiser.
Rodney has had the privilege of getting to know an incredibly special little girl. Jemma loves softball, loves her teammates, competes hard, and has a heart much bigger than her ten years. Jemma has wonderful grandparents and family surrounding her with love, and this fundraiser is not meant to replace that support. It is simply a way for friends, teammates, coaches, families, and the wider community to stand beside them.
Donations will help with immediate household needs, caring for the children, school expenses, transportation, food, clothing, and other unexpected costs that come with a sudden loss. They can also help support Jemma’s education and future beyond the softball field as the family navigates the difficult road ahead.
