I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of my sister Laverne McLean-Shaw, who bravely fought cancer and other health issues. She passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025. Laverne will be deeply missed and treasured by her two sons, Joshua and Gregory, along with her daughter-in-law Erica and three grandchildren, Amirah Shephard, Naomi Shaw, and Gregory Shaw III. In addition, her five siblings, Jacqueline, Veronica, Joyce, Benjamin, and Anthony, will also feel the loss. Laverne touched the lives of many with her kindness, humor, and compassion. She touched the hearts of many and will always be remembered for the light she brought into so many lives. Her memory will live on forever.
As we try to cope with this unimaginable loss, we would like to pay tribute to Laverne’s memory with a lovely memorial that captures the love and happiness she shared with loved ones. However, the costs associated with the funeral can be daunting, so we are seeking assistance from our family, friends, and community.
Every little bit helps as we work towards giving Laverne a meaningful send-off. If you can’t make a financial contribution, we appreciate your support through kind words, prayers, and spreading the word about the fundraiser to celebrate her life.
