Angela Rosa Commisso, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at the age of 97. A woman of deep faith, unwavering love, and quiet strength, Angela lived a full and beautiful life devoted to her family, her faith, and her community.
Born on October 25, 1927, in Locai, Italy, Angela was the cherished daughter of Vincenzo and Maria Commisso. On April 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Luigi Commisso, in her hometown of Locai. Together they built a life grounded in love and perseverance.
In 1955, Angela and her young family courageously immigrated to the United States in search of new opportunity, first settling in Detroit and later making Roseville, Michigan their permanent home in 1962. Angela was a dedicated and hardworking member of the Roseville Public Schools community, serving for many years in the cafeteria, where her warmth and care touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. She retired at the age of 70, but her legacy of kindness lived on.
Angela’s life was marked by resilience and lifelong growth—learning to drive at the age of 58 being just one of many examples. She was an extraordinary cook, famous among family and friends for her delicious meatballs. She found joy and calm in crocheting beautiful handmade gifts, completing word search puzzles, and following current events with a sharp and thoughtful mind.
Above all, Angela was a devout Catholic whose faith guided every step of her life. Her Bible was always nearby, and her spiritual devotion provided comfort and strength to those around her. She lived with generosity, gentleness, and a heart full of love.
Angela’s legacy is one of faith, family, and quiet fortitude. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Angela is survived by her loving children, Vince, Rosemary (Gino) Lazzari, Rita (Dan) Ehrke, Sylvia, and Anna (the Late John) Synod; thirteen cherished grandchildren; eighteen beloved great-grandchildren; dear siblings Dominic (Pat) Commisso, Gina Arilli, Pina, and Sam; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was joyfully greeted in Heaven by her parents, husband, and sons Paul, Joseph (Sharon), and Walter.
