Our lives changed forever with the sudden passing of our beloved sister, Amy.
Amy suffered a severe cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital, where she was placed on life support. Tragically, testing revealed she had suffered irreversible damage with no blood flow to her brain.
Even in the darkest moments of our family’s grief, Amy’s true character shone through. Amy was fiercely proud of being an organ donor—she never missed an opportunity to show anyone who would listen the little red heart proudly printed on her driver’s license. True to her giving nature, even as we had to say our final goodbyes, she remained on life support so that doctors could coordinate and successfully match her organs with recipients waiting for a second chance at life. True to who she was, Amy spent her final moments helping others live.
As our family navigates this heartbreaking transition and works to arrange a fitting celebration of life for her, we have received so many kind inquiries from friends and loved ones asking how they can help. We have set up this fund to assist with final expenses and the unexpected costs surrounding her passing.
