In Loving Memory of Terry
With broken hearts, we are asking for support as our family mourns the unexpected loss of our beloved brother, Terry, who passed away peacefully in his home.
There are no words that can truly describe the pain of losing someone you love so suddenly. Terry was a son, a brother, a friend, and above all, a father to his son, Terrence. His absence is already deeply felt, and our family is still trying to come to terms with the reality that he is gone.
For Terrence, losing his father at such a young age is a loss that will stay with him forever. As a family, we are coming together around him to make sure he knows that he will never have to carry this grief alone. Terry will continue to live on through his son, through the memories he gave us, and through every person whose life he touched.
Terry also faced struggles that many individuals and families across Canada understand all too well. Today’s drug crisis has become increasingly complex and unforgiving, with an unpredictable and dangerous supply affecting people from every walk of life. Families across the country are losing loved ones, often far too soon, and the impact reaches well beyond the individual to parents, children, siblings, friends, and entire communities.
We share this part of Terry’s story not to define him by his struggles, but in the hope that there can be greater compassion and understanding for those who are fighting battles that others may never fully see.
A person’s hardest moments are not the sum of their life.
Terry was our brother. He was Terrence’s father. He was someone we loved, laughed with, worried about, believed in, and hoped for. He deserves to be remembered for the person he was and for the memories he leaves behind, rather than simply for the challenges he faced.
Along with the heartbreak of losing Terry have come the unexpected financial responsibilities of laying him to rest. We have created this fundraiser to help with funeral and memorial expenses, final arrangements, and the other costs that come with saying goodbye to a loved one.
Our wish is to give Terry a beautiful and dignified farewell surrounded by the people who loved him, while allowing our family, especially Terrence, the opportunity to grieve without the additional weight of these unexpected expenses.
