Honoring Suzanne Salazar’s Life
I am creating this fundraiser to honor my mother, Suzanne Salazar. I’m her daughter, Janae, and our family is heartbroken by her unexpected loss. My mom was a true social butterfly with a smile that could light up a room. She loved being around people, making memories, enjoying life with the ones she cared about, and was always ready to make new friends. Suzanne was a sincere, humble person who would never judge anyone or make them feel less than. She was always open ears with advice that showed how deeply she truly cared. She was a proud mother to me and Jimmy, and a loving grandmother to seven granddaughters and one grandson in heaven. Her parents, Lupe and Joe, had passed long before, and I know there is comfort in imagining them together again. Suzanne loved going out of town whenever she could, especially her Halloween trips to Vegas, and she treasured the friendships that carried her through so much in life.
This loss has also brought financial hardship. My mother had no income, and I am doing my best on a limited income while supporting myself, my mother, and my three daughters. We are preparing a celebration of life gathering for about 200 of her close friends, family, and community members so they can come together, share memories, support one another, and honor her legacy. I am asking for help to cover her cremation, the rental space for the memorial, food, tables and chairs, decor, and the other expenses needed to give her the celebration of life she deserves. I want to decorate it in a way that feels tailored to her and give her loved ones one last gathering that reflects how much she loved to celebrate special moments.
In lieu of flowers, I kindly ask for contributions to help make this day possible. Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward these final expenses and helping me throw my mom one last party to honor her and all the memories she made with everyone she loved.
