Help Us Give My Mom the Goodbye She Deserves ❤️
I never imagined I would have to write something like this.
My mom is currently in hospice, and we are facing the heartbreaking reality that our time with her is coming to an end. There are no words that can truly explain what it feels like to watch your mom, someone who has been such a huge part of your life, come to the end of her journey.
For nearly 30 years, my mom dedicated her life to caring for other people. She worked as a nurse’s aide, showing up day after day to care for people when they were at their most vulnerable. She gave so much of herself to others, often putting their needs before her own.
Her compassion and dedication to caring for people had a profound impact on me. My mom is one of the reasons I became a nurse. Watching her care for others throughout my life taught me what compassion, patience, kindness, and truly caring for another person looks like. In many ways, she was my first teacher.
Now, after spending nearly 30 years caring for others, it is our turn to care for her.
As difficult as it is to think about what comes after she passes, I have to start preparing for the expenses that come with laying her to rest. I want more than anything to give my mom a proper, beautiful burial and a funeral that honors her life a chance for our family, friends, and the people whose lives she touched to come together, say goodbye, and celebrate the woman she was.
Unfortunately, the cost of funeral and burial arrangements is more than I can manage on my own, especially after everything our family has been through during her illness.
So, with a very heavy heart, I am asking for help.
I know times are difficult for everyone, and I never want anyone to feel obligated to give. If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean more to me and my family than I could ever put into words. Every dollar will go directly toward my mom’s funeral, burial, and final arrangements.
