Malena Barrientos was the strongest, most self-driven and independent person I have ever known. Even when life handed her challenges, she faced them with determination and a love for life that inspired everyone around her. In 2016, Malena first fell seriously ill, and despite her health struggles, she continued to show incredible willpower and motivation every day.
Malena was a devoted clubhouse member and a loving mother to three children and two stepchildren. She found joy in cooking, coloring, writing poems, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her warmth and creativity touched many lives, and her presence brought comfort and happiness to those who knew her.
We are raising funds to cover funeral expenses, a headstone memorial, the wake, and to help settle any outstanding bills so Malena can have a clean slate. The funeral will be held at Bonnerup Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN. Any support will help us honor Malena’s memory and give her the farewell she deserves, while easing the financial burden on her family during this difficult time.
