We are heartbroken to share that Lyndsey Elizabeth Garcia, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on June 3rd, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was just 42 years old.
Lyndsey touched countless lives through her 18 years of work as a Special Education Associate in the Ames Community School District. Her students, colleagues, and families knew her for her fierce advocacy, her boundless kindness, and her genuine love for every child she worked with. Outside the classroom, Lyndsey’s world revolved around her family. She was a devoted mother to Elena, Amaya, and Dylan, and a loving wife to Jeremiah Garcia, building a home full of love, laughter, and resilience.
In the face of cancer, Lyndsey showed extraordinary strength, humor, and unwavering faith. She faced every challenge with grace and determination, surrounded by the unwavering support of those who loved her. Her light was a guiding force for so many—especially her children—and her legacy is one of compassion, courage, and fierce love.
As her family navigates this devastating loss, we are reaching out for help to cover funeral and memorial expenses, including the service, burial, and associated costs. Anything raised beyond those immediate needs will go toward supporting Lyndsey’s children during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are able to give, please know that no amount is too small. Your generosity will help ensure Lyndsey is honored with the dignity she deserves and allow her family to focus on healing, not logistics. If you aren’t able to give financially, you can still help by sharing this fundraiser with others who knew and loved Lyndsey.
Thank you for standing with us as we celebrate Lyndsey’s incredible life and legacy. We will add service details as they become available.
With gratitude,
Erin Plummer and Erin Selsby
