In memory of my sister, Loretta Alfiero
With a heavy heart and profound sadness, my sister Loretta passed away on May 6, 2026. Losing a loved one is never easy, but what I have experienced since her passing has been something I never imagined I would have to face. After Loretta passed away, I was not included in the arrangements or kept informed about what was happening. I was repeatedly told that I would be contacted and kept updated, but unfortunately, my calls and messages went unanswered. I had no idea that Loretta had still not been laid to rest after all this time had passed, and having to explain the unfortunate truth and legality of the situation to our elderly mother and other family members has been very difficult.
Now, several months later, I learned my sister was still at the funeral home. I was heartbroken and devastated to learn that she had been left there for months without the final arrangements being completed.
At that point, I knew I could not let things continue this way, regardless of the circumstances or the difficulties with her family. Loretta deserved to be treated with dignity, love, and respect. She deserved to come home and have the celebration of life that she should have had months ago.
I have now taken responsibility for making sure Loretta’s funeral home services have been completed, and I’m doing everything I can to arrange a celebration of life where family and friends can come together to honor the life she lived and remember her, share memories, and say the goodbye she deserved.
I have paid for the funeral home cost myself, but the additional cost of the celebration of life, arrangements, and all the expenses involved is a lot for me to do on my own.
Loretta was my sister. No matter what happened between her family members, she was loved, and she deserves to be remembered. My hope is to give her a beautiful and peaceful farewell and allow her to rest in peace.
