Dear friends and loved ones of the Golabek family, both near and far,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking loss of Jeffrey “Jeff” Joseph Golabek, who left us far too soon on March 18, 2025, at the age of 47. Jeff lived every day with an infectious energy and a love for life that touched everyone around him.
Jeff was a devoted husband to his wife, Melissa, and an extraordinary father and stepfather to his beloved children, Cassidy, Emmerson, Vivienne (age 11), and Harrison (age 8). His family was his greatest joy and his proudest accomplishment. Jeff showed up for everything that mattered to them—whether it was a game, a recital, or just a small family moment—he never wanted to miss a single memory.
To know Jeff was to know joy. Friends lovingly nicknamed him “Hefe,” a nod to their inside jokes and Jeff’s larger-than-life personality. He loved the beach, especially watching sunsets with Melissa and their kids. Jeff was a lifelong Detroit Lions fan and cheered passionately for all Detroit sports teams and University of Michigan football. He loved attending games and sharing those moments with family and friends.
The Golabek family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this unimaginable time. While Melissa is deeply humbled and hesitant to ask for help, the reality is that she now faces the enormous task of navigating life without Jeff, while caring for their young children.
Funds raised through this GoFundraiser will go directly toward covering the costs of Jeff’s memorial service as well as providing immediate support for Melissa, Vivienne, and Harrison.
The Golabek’s are the kind of people who give without hesitation; humble, kind, giving, generous and full of heart. Now, they need us.
