Help Honor Janice Marie Olson’s Memory After a Tragic Loss
On June 5, 2025, our family’s world was shattered when our beloved mother, Janice Marie Olson, a vibrant 56-year-old woman, was taken from us in a heartbreaking tragedy. While riding on the back of her husband’s orange 2002 Honda GL1800 motorcycle on US-177, enjoying an early morning ride on their way to Janice’s doctor’s appointment, their lives were forever changed by a drunk driver, Wyatt Slaughter, who recklessly caused a devastating crash. Janice was ejected upon impact and tragically pronounced deceased at OU Medical Trauma. Her husband, James Michael Ray, was critically injured and remains in the hospital, fighting to recover.
Janice was the heart and soul of our family. Her infectious laughter, boundless kindness, and radiant smile lit up every room. She poured love into everything she did, from sharing stories of her adventures to cherishing quiet moments with family. Janice and Jim shared a deep love for motorcycle rides, finding joy and freedom on the open road. To have her life stolen so senselessly by a drunk driver is a pain we can barely comprehend.
We are creating this fundraiser to honor Janice’s incredible legacy and support our family through this unimaginable loss. The funds will help cover funeral expenses, medical bills for Jim’s ongoing critical care, and other unexpected costs as we navigate this heartbreaking time. Your generosity, whether through a donation or sharing this story, will help us give Janice the farewell she deserves and support Jim’s recovery.
Thank you for standing with us to celebrate the beautiful life of Janice Marie Olson and for helping us find strength in this time of grief. Every act of kindness keeps her spirit alive.
With love and gratitude,
The Family
