My name is Amber and I am creating this fundraiser for my uncle, Michael Harvey, after the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Heather Jamie Harvey. Heather was a kind soul who married into the family and meant so much to everyone who knew her. For years, Heather battled serious medical problems, including diabetes and recurring infections in her legs and feet. She had already gone through an amputation because of infection, and was recently scheduled for another amputation on her remaining foot. Over the weekend, Heather was hospitalized after losing feeling in her foot. She suffered cardiac arrest twice on Friday, and then, as doctors prepared for emergency surgery, she went into cardiac arrest for a third time. The infection was believed to have turned to gangrene, and despite every effort to save her, Heather passed away Sunday night.
Now our family is facing the painful reality of planning Heather’s funeral while carrying the weight of this sudden loss. This fundraiser will help cover funeral expenses and ease some of the financial burden during a time of deep grief.
