Shelby Hodge Funeral Expenses. Shelby Hodge, 35 years old, Eldorado, IL, passed away June 3, 2025, after dealing with lifelong health problems and spending her last 7 months of life on a ventilator and then transferred to a hospice hospital. She had no life insurance and leaves behind 2 children. Shelby was an amazing daughter, mother, sister, and friend. She was loved by so many and will be missed dearly by her family. This fundraiser will cover all funeral expenses so she can be at peace. Shelby was a very strong and loving woman and a fighter. She devoted her entire life to her children, and they were her air that kept her fighting and her life. She went through so much trying to stay alive for her babies and fought so hard these last 7 months till her body gave out. Shelby always told her kiddos she would never give up on them and would continue to fight till the end. As her mom, me, Shelby’s brother, and Shelby’s 2 children stayed at her bedside for the last 7 months, traveling miles after miles to be with her, and hoping to save her. But no matter the fight or the prayers or watching them revive her time after time, we couldn’t save her. God needed her more than we did. She didn’t give up on her babies; her body gave up on her. But we will cherish each and every moment and memory we had. Gonna miss her. As her mother, I’m now facing the unimaginable challenge of having to say goodbye to my 1st born and only little girl while caring for Shelby’s 2 children. This loss has brought overwhelming emotional and financial strain. These are tough times, and the responsibilities of supporting her children and making arrangements will be difficult. I am reaching out for support to help cover the costs of memorial services.
