We are the family of Ms. Elouise McFadden, lovingly known by many as “Ms. Salley” or simply “Grandma.” She recently passed away unexpectedly after a rapid decline in health, and we are raising funds to help give her the dignified burial she deserves.
Ms. Elouise was a deeply rooted Southern woman, born in Cottageville, South Carolina, who later made her home in Flatbush, Brooklyn. She carried her values of love, generosity, and hospitality wherever she went. She was a community matriarch, feeding dozens every Sunday with homemade meals that felt like Thanksgiving. She worked at the neighborhood hardware store, gave children in the community snacks after school, and made everyone feel like family.
She did not have health insurance or burial coverage, and we are seeking help to cover funeral expenses. Every contribution goes directly toward her services. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time and helping us honor her life the way she lived—with grace, love, and generosity.
