Joshua is raising this fundraiser in memory of Jason Hayes, a beloved family member and friend whose passing came unexpectedly. Jason did not have life insurance, and now his family is facing the painful burden of covering the expenses needed to lay him to rest with dignity. Donations will go directly toward Jason’s cremation, a headstone so he can rest beside his Mom, Dad, and brother Jimmy Hayes, and a memorial outside of the cemetery to honor the life he lived. Some of Jason’s ashes will also be placed at his favorite spot in Gurnsey County, a place that meant so much to him.
Joshua also hopes to carry Jason’s legacy forward in a meaningful way. If possible, part of Jason’s memory will live on through a scholarship for students pursuing construction trades at the Buffalo Campus of Mid-East, reflecting the work Jason cared deeply about. One of Jason’s biggest complaints on the job was that there were never enough skilled people to work side by side with him. Supporting this fundraiser will help Jason’s family with the immediate funeral and memorial costs while also honoring the pride he had in hard work and craftsmanship.
