Our family is heartbroken to share the loss of Helen Ann Bannister, who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 51. Helen was a strong, independent person who lived life on her own terms. She never wanted anyone to help with anything, and you practically had to force help on her. But when someone else needed something, Helen was always there. She wanted to help everybody. Family meant everything to Helen, and if there was anything involving family, big or small, she wanted to be part of it. She loved spending time with the people she loved and making memories together. Helen had a big personality and an outgoing spirit. In school, she was an all-around athlete, and she loved camping, monster trucks, amusement parks, and card nights with family and friends. She knew how to have fun, laugh, and make memories that people will hold onto forever.
Helen was also incredibly strong. This year, she reached 10 years cancer-free, and for the past eight years she fought kidney failure with a strength that inspired everyone around her. She faced challenges that would have broken many people, but Helen kept fighting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stevie E. Bannister Sr. and Diana L. Boyl, and her sister, Amber Bannister. She also leaves behind her brothers, sisters, and the stepmother she loved like her own mother, along with many other family members and loved ones who will miss her deeply. Sadly, Helen did not have life insurance, and our family was not financially prepared for the cost of losing her. We are asking for support to help cover Helen’s funeral and cremation expenses so she can receive the farewell she deserves. Helen spent her life helping and caring for other people. Now our family is asking for a little help for her. Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, would mean so much. Rest peacefully, Sis. You fought long enough.
