Help Tara get Life-Saving Cancer Treatment

Main fundraiser photo
Tara, a beloved single-mom of three and grandmother of two, is fighting for her life.

For many months, Tara was suffering inexplicably. In July 2024, Tara’s health began rapidly deteriorating, and she was hospitalized four times at three hospitals. Doctors advised that she had a restriction in her bile duct and needed a stent to widen the restriction. Tara underwent an endoscopic biliary to place a stent in her bile duct. In the days following the procedure, Tara was in excruciating pain, so she returned to the hospital. This time, doctors advised that the stent had migrated inside of her body and needed to be repositioned, so Tara underwent another procedure to reposition the stent. However, Tara’s pain still did not dissipate. Ultimately, Tara went back to the hospital for a third procedure in an attempt to widen the restriction with a more durable stent, as the prior procedures were all unsuccessful. While Tara finally experienced some long overdue pain relief, it was short-lived.

Just a few months later, in October 2024, Tara returned to the hospital for another procedure, as her doctors advised the temporary stent needed to be removed. As soon as it was removed, Tara’s unbearable symptoms quickly resurfaced. The following month, in November 2024, Tara was hospitalized again for three weeks. It was during this time that we received devastating news – Tara was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive and exceedingly rare type of cancer in her bile duct that was at the tail-end of stage 2 and progressing to stage 3. Tara immediately underwent one of the most complex and invasive surgical procedures: a pancreaticoduodenectomy also known as the “whipple” procedure. The surgery was nothing short of debilitating, significantly impairing Tara’s ability to function. Following the surgery, Tara experienced loss of mobility, chronic pain, and nerve damage. In conjunction with physical therapy to regain basic functions, Tara also underwent months of chemotherapy treatment in the hopes of eradicating any cancer potentially remaining post-surgery. Unfortunately, in the months following her surgery, Tara’s pain never subsided; it only worsened. Sadly, Tara’s frequent complaints of intense stomach pains were chalked up to post-surgical wounds, nerve damage, and chemotherapy side effects by medical providers.

In May 2025, agonizing pain brought Tara back to the hospital where more gut-wrenching news arrived. Not only had chemotherapy failed her but also, cancer had spread further throughout Tara’s abdomen and progressed to terminal stage 4. The doctors advised that additional surgery is not an option for Tara, as the cancer is too spread out. According to her doctors, Tara’s cancer is now “incurable,” and no amount of additional chemotherapy will save her.

Unfortunately, due to its aggressive nature, Tara’s type of cancer has a very poor prognosis – an extremely shortened life expectancy. Although doctors have estimated Tara has only mere months left to live, we know our Heavenly Father has a plan and purpose far greater than this for her. Tara has always been a fighter, and we will continue fighting alongside her. While Tara’s physical body is weak, her heart’s desire is to not just survive, but to thrive, cancer-free.

After much prayer and consideration, we’ve found a glimmer of hope through alternative cancer treatment care. These innovative and cutting-edge therapies have helped others in similar situations once deemed impossible. As alternative cancer treatment is expensive and not covered by insurance, we’re reaching out to ask for your urgent support to help ease the burden. Your donation of any amount will directly assist with Tara’s alternative cancer treatment, specialized dietary needs, medical expenses, transportation to and from appointments, and help bridge the gap created by the loss of income as Tara and her family navigate this incredibly difficult time.

Every contribution no matter the size, prayer, or share of this link will make a profound difference in Tara’s best and only shot at healing from this unfortunate diagnosis and help our family face the immense challenges ahead.

Despite the diagnosis, we’re not fearful and are trying our best to stay positive. We trust that God is in control through all of this. We’re confident Tara will beat this; she just needs the tools to do so.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! May God bless you.
