It has now been one week since my mother went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025. What an unexpected and bittersweet time this week has been. I have spent the last week engaged in preparation for her upcoming memorial service and also wrapping up her affairs. Many of you have reached out to offer support in this difficult time, and I am grateful for all of the love and sympathy that has been extended.
Several of you have also asked how they might be of practical assistance. As I attend to my mother’s final affairs, I would be grateful for any contribution towards tying up these final loose ends, financially. The last two years have been particularly weighty as I have taken on the responsiblity of caring for my mothers medical and practical needs — taking her to her many doctors appointments, securing full time nursing care, and being her primary caretaker for over 18 months before health declined and she went to a nursing home. Now, as my mother is finally at rest, any gift that you’d like to give to help cover her final expenses are both needed and would be greatly appreciated.
In honor of my mother’s wishes, the funeral will be in Houston at her home church of Wheeler Avenue. I am mindful that many in my community will not be able to be present for this out of town service, which I completely understand. In lieu of contributing to a meal train or floral arrangements, if you would be willing to support my family and me in this way I would be very grateful.
