Help Our Family Prepare for the Loss of Brandon
Our family is facing something we never imagined we would have to go through.
My partner, Brandon, suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently in intensive care. He suffered a catastrophic anoxic brain injury, and we have been given the devastating news that he is not expected to recover.
Brandon and I have shared 12 years together, and he is the father of our children. He was our family’s main provider and the person we depended on for so much of our everyday lives. Everything changed in an instant, and we are completely unprepared for what comes next.
I will be completely honest—creating this fundraiser is incredibly embarrassing for me. Asking people for financial help is not something I ever imagined I would have to do. But right now, I have to put that embarrassment aside for Brandon and our children because we simply were not prepared for funeral and end-of-life expenses.
As we try to process this devastating news and spend what time we have with Brandon, I am also trying to figure out how I am going to manage everything that comes afterward.
