Megan A. is my sister, and she is grieving the devastating loss of her fiancé to suicide. He was also my best friend, and someone I cared for deeply, so this loss has shaken our whole world. In the middle of that heartbreak, Megan has been trying to find a way to honor the person she loves while coping with so much pain. A memorial tattoo would mean so much to her, especially because it would be a dinosaur tattoo in honor of his love for dinosaurs. For Megan, this would not be about holding onto pain as a reminder, but about carrying love and memory with her in a meaningful and personal way.
Right now, Megan and I are both under financial strain. Megan has not been employed for some time due to her struggle with mental illness, (she has been attending IOP to cope and takes lots of her time) and I am balancing school, bills, and the struggle of trying to find a job after moving out the house and now living two hours away. Our family is not able to help cover the cost of the tattoo, even though it would bring Megan real comfort during such a difficult time. The funds from this fundraiser will go toward the cost of Megan’s memorial tattoo so she can honor her fiancé in a way that feels healing to her. Our goal is at least $300, she also does NOT know about this fundraiser as it will be a gift and surprise to my lovely sister.
