I am creating this fundraiser for my son, Orion, so I can finally give him the headstone he deserves. In 2019, I had a second-trimester miscarriage, and because of how far along I was, I was required to bury him. It has been 7 years, and he still does not have a headstone. That has been incredibly painful for me. Every time I visit the cemetery, I feel the weight of knowing that his resting place has not yet been marked in the way it should be. Orion was, and always will be, my son, and it means so much to me to give him a permanent memorial where his life can be remembered, honored, and acknowledged with love.
The funds raised will go directly to Southlawn, where Orion is buried, to cover the cost of his headstone, the installation, and any required fees. More than anything, I want to create a place that reflects the love I have for him and gives his siblings somewhere they can visit him and speak his name. This feels like the least I can do to honor Orion’s memory and give him the tribute he should have had long ago.
