I’m Sanai, and I’m asking for help with something very close to my heart while also trying to build my future. My stepdad passed away about 5 years ago, and as of March 31st, 2027, it will be going on 6 years since we lost him. My family was not able to afford a tombstone for him at the time. Right now, where he rests is still just grass, and it hurts knowing we have not yet been able to give him that lasting marker of love and respect. He was always there for me, my brother, and my mom, helping us get through whatever we needed and then some. Being able to finally get him a tombstone would mean everything to me, because it feels like a way to honor the care and support he gave our family. The other images in my fundraiser show examples of what I hope to get for his tombstone.
I am also a soon-to-be cosmetologist currently in school, and I plan to graduate by May 5th. To do that, I need to pay off my school loans. After that, I want to get my hair business going and continue pursuing my dreams by attending William Paterson to study forensic psychology, business management, and forensic science. I plan to use what is needed first for my stepdad’s tombstone, and the rest will help me move forward with school, my business, and the next steps in my education.
