Sandra is raising this fundraiser for her brother, Jose Lucero, and for their mother, Kathy, during an incredibly painful and unexpected loss. Jose had been battling renal failure for the last six months and had been going to dialysis. After coming home from dialysis with his mother, he began having trouble breathing. He chose not to have an ambulance called that night, and by morning Kathy found Jose unresponsive in bed. Their family is heartbroken, and Kathy is carrying the deep trauma of losing her son so suddenly while also facing the difficult responsibility of making final arrangements.
This fundraiser will help cover Jose’s funeral expenses and ease the financial burden on Kathy, who is living on a fixed income. Sandra and her family want to make sure Jose is laid to rest with the dignity and care he deserves, without his mother having to carry this burden alone.
