I am starting this fundraiser for my family after the unexpected loss of my grandpa, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at KU Medical Center following surgery to remove lung cancer. This has been an incredibly painful and heartbreaking time for all of us, and we are still trying to process such a sudden loss while preparing to say our final goodbyes. Along with the emotional weight of losing him, our family is now facing the financial burden of funeral costs and hospital bills.
The funds raised will be split between my grandpa’s funeral expenses, his medical bills, and helping his wife, Susan, with living costs since she is unable to work right now. We want to make sure these immediate needs are covered so our family can focus on grieving and supporting one another during this difficult time.
