Help Jennifer Bring Her Mother Home

Main fundraiser photo
Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am 41 years old. I am a single mother (separated July 2024, no child support). I have a 12 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. I work in the cafeteria of my son’s elementary school. I am struggling financially. I barely have enough income to pay rent and bills and buy food every month. Recently, I was finally able to pickup my mother’s ashes. My mother Janice Wynne Lisica (born Oelschlager) died January 25, 2021 at age 65. I want to bring my mother Janice home to New York City so that she can be buried with her parents John and Edythe Oelschlager at the cemetery at their beloved spiritual home St. George’s Episcopal Church in Astoria. However, I unfortunately am not able to afford to do this. I am asking my family and friends to please donate. I need help! I need to pay the gravedigger, make a donation to the church, buy airplane tickets, book a hotel room, buy meals at restaurants, and have spending money to explore the city. Just the gravedigger, plane, and hotel alone would be over $3,000. My kids have not been to NY since we abruptly moved to GA in 2018 due to eviction. I want this trip to be a long weekend trip so that it can be our first ever family vacation and we can explore NYC and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
