Help Honor Rita Sue’s Memory with Love

Main fundraiser photo
In loving memory of Rita Sue Bray, a mother, grandmother, Aunt, sister, daughter and loved by all. Everyone that knew my mom would tell you that we were all better people for knowing her. I am happy to have had the last 4 years with her. Mom moved back to TX in 2021 to live with me after having a few health scares. She started getting stronger, improved her diabetes, saved her foot and she was even walking with walker and taking her own showers! She loved having movie night with me and the kids. Just don’t let her pick the movie you’ll end up watching Burlesque, Cinderella or Carrie. Her favorite person to be around was Aiden her grandson, and of course me. Just around her birthday (July) last year she had a fall and broke her kneecap. Which resulted in her being bedridden for 6wks to heal and if you know mom she had a few health issues. The dementia was getting worse with being bedridden. I was not able to continue properly caring for her at home and placed her in a long term facility in August. Last Tuesday I received a call that she was showing signs and not eating. Visited with her one last time on Friday night. Left about 9pm went home to eat and put on Jammie’s and when returned she had taken her last breaths and went peacefully to be with god. Mom officially at 1:50am on 03/22/25.

I have made arrangements to have mom cremated and working on having a service at her church first week of April. With most her family and friends in MI their will be either a live stream sent or video call link so you can join in on celebrating Mom’s life. More details to come.

I wish I didn’t have to ask for help but just getting back in feet. Started my new job last week and no life insurance to help with cremation and no help from her spouse but that’s not surprising. I’ve worked with my resources and have gotten the cost to be reasonable but still not in my budget. Any help is appreciated and will keep everyone updated on details for the service.
