In memory of Darrell Higginbotham
Darrell Higginbotham was a beloved member of the church community and someone who meant so much to so many. Darrell grew up in the little Center Point church alongside me, and was the son of Wallace Higginbotham, who pastored at 25th Avenue Baptist Church. Over the years, Darrell became known for his beautiful tenor voice and for singing a cappella songs for church groups in a way that touched hearts deeply. He graduated from Samford College and faithfully served for a number of years as music director at Hughes Memorial Baptist Church in Pinson. Darrell passed away on Sunday, August 30, and his loss is being felt by everyone who knew and loved him.
Hughes Memorial Baptist Church is now working to raise the remaining funds needed for Darrell’s funeral services, since his burial policy does not cover the full cost. The immediate need is to help cover funeral expenses, and any support beyond that may be used toward a headstone to honor his memory. Hughes Memorial staff will determine how all monies are directed. Please consider giving if you are able, and keep this church family in your prayers during this difficult time. Any kindness, support, or sharing of this fundraiser will help honor Darrell’s life, faith, and years of service.
