Andrew is raising this fundraiser in memory of his father, a man who worked as a custodian nearly all his life and spent years quietly showing up for others through hard work and dedication. In late 2024, Andrew’s father became severely ill with pneumonia and was hospitalized until early 2025. After recovering, the family was hit with even more devastating news when he was diagnosed with three cancers: skin, rectum, and lung cancer. Even after all of that, he tried to return to work for a short time, but the seriousness of his illnesses made it impossible. Over the last couple of months, he was in and out of the hospital, and this morning his body finally gave up.
This fundraiser is to help ease the financial burden left behind during an incredibly painful time. The funds will help cover any remaining medical bills, but most importantly, they will go toward Andrew’s father’s cremation and a Buddhist ceremonial to honor his life and memory with dignity and love.
