In Loving Memory of Digna Rosmery Munguia Molina Vda de Hernandez: A Call for Support

With hearts broken, we share the tragic news of the passing of Digna Rosmery on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at the age of 51, leaving behind her two children, Daysi and Xavier, her parents, her siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless loved ones who are now grappling with the enormity of her loss.

Digna’s battle with colon cancer began in April 2023. With unmatched courage and strength, she fought bravely to stay with us, enduring multiple chemotherapy treatments and surgeries. Sadly, despite her relentless fight, the cancer spread, and she suffered greatly in the last months of her life.

This devastating loss is compounded by the tragedy that has already shaped Digna’s life. In 2013, her beloved husband and the father of her two children tragically died in a car accident when their children were just six and three years old. Since then, Digna became the unwavering pillar of strength for her family—serving as both the breadwinner and caretaker for her children.

But Digna’s dedication to family and hard work was nothing new. She was a passionate rural school teacher in Cacaopera, El Salvador from 1997, at a time when the country was still recovering from the scars of a brutal civil war until 2016. Working in the war-torn regions of Morazán, Digna helped rebuild her community through education, inspiring generations of students to persevere and thrive in the face of adversity. Despite loving her career, Digna migrated to the United States in search of a better life for her children. She worked at McDonalds for five years saving enough money to buy her family’s first home in the United States.

Now, as we face the unimaginable pain of her loss, we humbly turn to you for help. Your generous donations will go directly to the following critical needs:

  • Funeral arrangements in Virginia
  • Financial support for Digna’s children, Daysi (16) and Xavier (19). Your contribution will help provide for their immediate needs and educational futures.
  • Humanitarian Parole Application for Digna’s sister, Karen: Karen, who has been denied a humanitarian visa twice during Rosmery’s cancer fight, is now desperately seeking the chance to reunite with her grieving family and honor her sister’s memory in this heartbreaking time.g hyguvIn the face of unimaginable pain, we ask for your help to ease the burdens this family now carries. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a profound difference.

Please join us in honoring Digna’s legacy by sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and networks. Together, we can offer some comfort to those left behind, reminding them that even in the darkest of times, they are not alone.

From the depths of their hearts, Digna’s family thanks you for your kindness, your prayers, and your unwavering support.
